Dear, dear Friends,
First, thank you.
I can't call everyone and I don't have email addresses for everyone who has called or sent messages so this is the best way for me to let you know the good news. Jeff is semi-alert, off the respirator, ventilator, ballon pump, and his heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing are good. No further surgeries are planned at this time. It seems that the stent that was used at Weems has cleared the occlusion.
More tests will be made, of course, but his doctor is very happy with his progress. He was in a medically-induced coma for 4 days so he's still weak and woozy and he can't talk after having tubes in his throat but he's trying to talk, mostly asking questions. Mostly, he's just resting and getting stronger. As soon as he can understand, I'll tell him again about all of the concern, prayers, and offers of assistance that you and so many others have showered on us.
We are so blessed and you are all a huge part of those blessings. We're going to be here for some time and right now no visitors are allowed.
A special thank you to those of you who helped me find a place to stay in Panama City. Now that Jeff makes progress, I'm doing fine. I'll keep you updated and if others ask about Jeff or if you want to forward this on to other friends, that's fine. This is good news I want to share. Thank you...you are all loved.
